Wesley Winter Work Project

Winter Work Project

Wesley takes a service trip every year. In 2009 we will leave March 14 and return to College Station on the 19th (during Spring break)). We have taken trips to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Port Arthur, Texas, Del Rio, Texas and Beaumont, Texas and last year in Lake Charles, LA. We have helped repair orphanages in Nuevo Laredo and Acuna, Mexico as well as providing hurricane relief in Beaumont and Lake Charles. Our work projects usually consist of things like painting walls, repairing plumbing, laying tile, installing toilets, sinks, and shower heads. During work on the orphanage, many students took time off to play with the kids. This retreat/work project is an annual event that allows our students to give time and service to a community in need. This time promises to be fun, while at the same time showing a servant's heart and allowing us to grow in Christ.

Wesley Foundation offers work projects overseas to spread the word of God

Overseas Mission Trip

Our Wesley Foundation has gone to Belize for many years. Leaving after the Spring Semester has ended, groups of about 20 college students from both our Wesley and the Wesley Foundation at Stephen F. Austin University travel to Belize to work on a school in Corozal. We leave on a Saturday and return on the following Sunday. The cost is not prohibitive, and is usually raised by the student's home churches. Many students have found this to be a life changing experience.

Big Event

Wesley has participated in Texas A&M's Big Event for the past 4 years. The Big Event is the largest one-day student run service project in the nation. In years past, over 7000 students volunteered to complete over 575 jobs in the Bryan/College Station Community.

Wesley Foundation has participated in TAMU Habitat for Humanity's Shack-a-thon for the past 5 yearsRelay for Life

Wesley has participated in TAMU Habitat for Humanity's Shack-a-thon and this past year in Relay for Life. The Shackathon raises funds for Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life raises funds for cancer research. Both require a pledge time and money. This past year we donated from our fundraising event, $1,500.00 to Relay for Life.
